I have been working on this baby blanket for longer than I can remember. This may sound over dramatic, but I actually started it in October of 2013 and just finished June of 2014. So…. It has been a long time. I designed it myself, and it is not a difficult pattern, but it was the holidays, I took a full load in spring quarter heavy on the sciences, I moved my husband up to Toronto for a job, and then back again…. Well anyways, life happened. Finally it is done, and I have that warm, glowing feeling of accomplishment that only comes from creating beauty and love with your own two hands. I can’t wait to see my darling little nibling all wrapped up in it! I used Loops & Threads Snuggly Wuggly yarn prints, in pixie print and the pattern is essentially a basket weave with a seed stitch border. Super simple, but I think the texture gives it a little more sophisticated look.
Schools out for summer and I am so excited to finally get to my laundry list of things that got put on hold during the school year. Crafting is number one on my list of much missed activities! My baby brother is having his first kid, and I have a million things I want to knit for my future nibling. Next up are some home improvements! I’m more than a little embarrassed to admit that the fabulous new curtains we found for our bedroom have been hanging up unhemmed for well over a month now. While the old ones, which I plan to turn into throw pillows are folded up and cluttering my husband’s office. We also had a recent addition to our family!
This adorable little boy, Bronson. We have lots of training, snuggles and fun in our future. Traveling, reading, baking, the sky is the limit for me this summer. Freedom feels good, let the journey begin.
